I should write a book. Or a booklet. There is so much more of the story to tell. Stay with me. We had the privilege of working with 3 different young adults from Youth With A Mission (YWAM). All three of them represented their organization very well. They were very humble servants of God and were willing to serve in any capacity that was needed at any given moment. They were equally able to share the gospel, entertain 100's of kids, lead worship, and translate what we had to say to the people. They were invaluable to us because of all the kids at our site.
Thursday was a fantastic day. What I wrote in my devotional journal on Wednesday night may have had a lot to do with my outlook. I wrote "Be simple. Be real. Don't sell. Just tell. Lift up the name and message of Jesus. He is the way, the truth and the life. He speaks quite well for Himself. He draws people to Himself. We get in the way sometimes. Spinning. Persuading. Begging. Guilting. I am not. He Is. If the children are from Satan, God, please deliver us from them. If not, then please fill us up with an uncommonly deep well of love, patience, strength and endurance. Reveal Yourself to these kids. Draw them to You not to us."
The feeling today was totally different. Dan started really leading the team. I think he felt a lot more confident as a team leader today. Our entire team really came together today. All day long we stood in the gap for each other at various times. It was a wonderful, synergistic experience. The kids responded. The adults responded. We had a lot of people go through the discipleship materials. Not even the rain could keep us from accomplishing what we set out to do. In fact, the heavy rains in the afternoon reminded me of God. Pouring out His favor and blessing and Spirit upon that place. And it was refreshing and necessary and wonderful.
