We’re still in Dallas. The conference is really great. Today Lori, Lynda & I got to hang out by the pool for a little while. It was nice to stretch out and relax for just a bit. We rarely get to spend time together just talking about nothing. Usually have kids or husbands hanging around. They are amazing women and I realized today that I’ve known them for over 23 years. Doesn’t seem possible.
Lori is a civil engineer. Lives in Orange County. She has her own engineering company. Married to Jeff. Three children. Busy life. Her family likes to surf.
Lynda is a stay at home mom. Lives in Canada. Worked as a nurse for 10+ years. Married to David. Three children. Busy wife. Her family likes to ice skate in the rink in their backyard.
Ray & Mary shared their testimony this morning. As Lori said, “we are now an open book.” Talked about giving and inheritances and it was really good. This afternoon we spent an hour with R&M at a sort of family stewardship meeting. They updated us on their strategic plan for giving over the past year and gave us ideas for ministries to support that they have researched and have confidence in. I'll compile a short list and post it here in the near future.
Tonight we heard from John Ortberg. I really like his style. He’s got a new book coming out in August – called “It All Goes Back In The Box.” Tomorrow morning we will hear from John again. We’ll have brunch at 10am them we’ll head to the airport and back home to reality.
