The appliances in our houses are one by one starting to let us down. Fatally. Before we left town we had to replace our stove/oven. Our refrigerator has a constant stream of water leaking into it from the freezer. This we will deal with when Dan gets home. Yesterday, our water heater started leaking. A lot. Like a stream running out of the laundry room and puddling up in the driveway last night. I took a late night trip to Sears. And they came through for me. I bought the water heater. Paid them to install it. And they were here by 10am today.
In the meantime, I had to take a bucket shower. Oh yes, it's as pleasant as you might imagine. I heated up two huge pots full of water on the stove. carried them into the bathroom with me. Stood in the shower. Poured one entire pan of water over my head. It was a little too hot. Washed my hair. Gave up trying to use soap. Not enough water for lather. Then I dumped the entire other pot of water over my head, trying to get out all the shampoo. No water left for conditioner. Oh well. That's what all the fancy leave-in products are for, right?
