This is the 7th and final post in the Burundi - by Mike series. I'm proud of Mike for putting together this report for school. I'm hoping that it will inspire someone to consider going to Africa with us on an e3 church-planting trip sometime soon!
Our last day in Burundi was in the capital city, Bujumbura. My brother and I got to sleep in
that day. When we got up, most of the rest of the team had gone to church. We
got to eat breakfast in the hotel dining room. We had omelets and toast, a huge
bowl of chopped up tropical fruit and an ice-cold Coca Cola. It was a really
good meal. Especially the cold Coca Cola. After breakfast, we packed and got
ready to leave for home. Then we just hung out at the hotel, checking out the
fantastic view of Lake Tanganyika and the city of Bujumbura.
Overall, it was a
wonderful trip. I’d like to return to Burundi again, now that I've been there. It is a beautiful place with a lot of people who need to hear the Gospel. Some people we met had not even heard about America. My parents say when you arrive in Burundi, you've arrived at the end of the earth. Now I know what they are talking about!
