I'm taking a trip up to North Scottsdale today. I've got several items on my to-do list while in NoSco. At the top of the list, Michael and I have an appointment to check out Driving MBA which is a driving school that uses high-tech, highly responsive simulators to teach behind-the-wheel basics. They've got a great summer special going on right now. And with Michael's recent experience of not passing the driver's permit test 3 days in a row ($7 for 3 tries - such a bargain), I thought I'd get an idea of what $400 could do to help him pass the test. Yes. $400. Keep in mind that he would have 10 hrs of "specific-to-the-driver's-permit-test" simulator time which simulates in real-time, real-life, real-feel simulation exactly what questions could be on the test. A hands-on experience for him might be exactly what he needs. He'd have to complete 4 of those hours before taking the 3-1/2 hr permit class which goes over in painstaking detail all of the questions that could possibly be on the test. Then he would actually take the test at the end of the class. If he passed, he'd receive a voucher which he'd just take over to the MVD to exchange for a learner's permit.
Worth it?
