We leave for Burundi in approximately 168 hrs. That's 1 week from today. Dan and I are officially leading our first e3 Partners trip together. It took one year, but I finally finished my CPC training in May. We've been working from home - Dan is in the kitchen-dining area...I'm in the living room-dining area. We text and email each other from our "offices" and then we have staff meetings in the car and at Starbucks. We also observe "casual Friday" attire on, well, everyday.
As always, I'm nervous and excited and looking forward to meeting up with the rest of our team at the airport in D.C. I'm not looking forward to the long flight across the Atlantic to Rome then to Ethiopia then finally to Burundi. I always am relieved and thrilled to be on the ground in Bujumbura. There's just something about that place. We will set up a medical clinic for 4 days. I'm part of the eyeglass clinic. My first time. It should be interesting and fun. Our overall plan is to help 4 churches start 4 brand new churches and strengthen 2 existing churches. We anticipate that our medical team will see at least 1400 patients. We will also be doing HIV-Hope clinics for groups of people.
It's always amazing to watch God's plan unfold. We truly are servants, willing to be used, totally all-in!!
We would love to have people praying for us while we are gone. Click HERE to download and print our current prayer calendar. We will be sending short updates from Burundi, as we are able, via Twitter (follow @berryman & @daninreallife) and Facebook.
