Michael took a 4 hour driving course today. It was all classroom stuff. They went through the Arizona Driver's Handbook line by line. Took several practice tests. Completed several worksheets. Reviewed everything together as a class. Then, the teacher administered the official AZ Driver's Permit test. Michael took this test about a year ago and missed 11 questions. As you might guess, that's not a passing score. However, today, he was really ready to learn the information and re-take the test.
As I was driving over to pick him up at the end of the class, my phone rang - it was Michael calling to tell me HE PASSED THE TEST!! We are all super-proud of him. He was really nervous. But HE DID IT! They gave him a waiver which he will present to the MVD on Monday and in return he will receive his Driver's Permit. Now it's time to clear the roads - you've been warned - and let him actually learn how to operate a vehicle. The state requires 25 hours of behind the wheel time. We're requiring 50 hours.
